law of attraction

boho manifesting, canon digital rebel xt

Thea and I were talking on the phone today about how the film The Secret has transformed our way of thinking and feeling in our day to day lives. I shared it with Letha and have witnessed a transformation in her life as well.

The "secret" is the Law of Attraction: If you are thinking and feeling negative thoughts, you are going to attract negative things in your life. If you are thinking and feeling positive thoughts and emotions, you are going to attract positive things. There is a scientific explanation that I won't go into...I encourage you to see the film for that.

What I do know is that it works. Learning to monitor my thoughts has been a challenge but so worth it. I have always been a positive person in general but I never really paid close attention to the many thoughts and images that enter into my psyche throughout the day. After watching this film, I have caught so many negative ones that I am taken aback! So what I do now in that moment is stop and change that thought or image into something that makes me feel good.

Our thoughts are so much more powerful than we realize. We truly can create the life we want by believing it, feeling it and manifesting it. From what I have witnessed in my life since practicing this, I have seen the gifts both large and small.

I'll give you a small example. Today I went to a bookstore in search of books on design. I wanted so badly to score one of the comfy leather chairs scattered between the rows of bookshelves. You know which ones I am talking about. They are always occupied, no?? As I was scanning the aisles on my way to the design section, I saw that the chairs were all taken. I felt myself get frustrated and I imagined having to sit on the floor like I always do. I caught myself in mid negative thought and instead took a moment to envision me sitting in a comfy leather chair. I imagined how peaceful I would feel having all the time in the world to browse through all of my books, sinking deeply into the huge comfy seat.

When I arrived at my section and gathered the books, I turned around and right then and there, the man sitting in the comfy leather chair behind me got up to leave. Not only did I get the chair...but it was in my section!

Call it coincidence...but I call it Law of Attraction.

ps. i cannot do this film justice here. please take 90 minutes out of your day to download and watch it on your computer. it is $4.95...and worth every cent. i'd love to hear your experience!

I sooo believe this too. We really can create our reality, and our positive thoughts can be manifested.

You saying this about the sofas reminds me of how i do this with parking spaces. you may think this sounds really odd but whenever i need a space in a certain place i ask for one, and imagine the space....it always works.
really...

here's to positive thought...xxx

I try everyday to remember this and with my acupuncture practice, I've seen this to be true. Last summer I'd just started my practice in our new digs, and it was slow. I also know that business slows down anyway so when this June came around, I started telling myself that business would be slow, I wouldn't be making $$ etc and you know what happened, exactly what I manifested. About 2 weeks ago, I decided enough of that and I started dialoging differently. I would fall asleep visualizing and telling myself that business would pick up and be great again....I'm not even kidding when I say that I've had 9 count em' 9 phone calls this week about acupuncture. 3 have made appointments (outstanding!) and just the fact that I'm getting calls again.....it's all about manifesting positivity!
Yes, the laws of attraction are powerful

i'm intrigued by this movie that you mention and by your discussions of the power of thoughts, visualization, and the creation of our reality. i've been meeting with a therapist (some might call her a hypnotherapist) in order to deal with my own infertility journey and she has talked to me about these same principles and concepts. Interesting...

I love it. Like you I've always thought of myself as very positive, but even in this last few days I have made big changes. I've stopped saying we'll get out of debt" and started saying I AM waelthy. Now it hasn't happened yet, but I know it will. :-) I wish you the best of luck with more realizations of this law.

BTW - have you checked out the 2 "what the bleep" movies?

That's a whole new level...

Enjoy the journey.

About the time you put up this post, my mother called and said, "I sent you a DVD." Um. Okay. It arrived on Thursday. She called, "Did you get the DVD?" I opened it while she was on the phone--I'd just been to the mailbox. "I don't get it...it just says 'Secret'." She just sort of chuckled, "I think you'll really like it...you'll probably recognize several of the speakers." That night my mate had a gig out of town, so I had a solo evening before me...I put in The Secret and...WOW. Such a powerful film! The next morning, I caught myself, mid-shower before work, having some negative thoughts about something that had happened at the end of the previous workday...and then remembered The Secret. :) (I'm going to post about it, too...I think it's great!)

OH great, thank you for posting this, my friends and I are getting together for a movie night next week to watch this. I can't wait. I know about the law of attraction in theory, and usually try my hardest to use this in my life. sometimes, it slips away and i have to "start over", wipe the slate clean sort of thing. Anyway, I know it works and I need a refresher course!

We all need the secret!!!!
