hair love

boho kitty cat, canon digital rebel xt

I know three posts ago I said I was taking a blog break. Perhaps some of you were a bit confused when you saw that I continued to post a few pictures with some thoughts while on my said "break". I do feel as though I need to step back a bit from divulging so many parts of me here so that I can pour that energy into getting my store open. Although, I am realizing that this is truly a very vulnerable time for me and that I find comfort here...amongst all of you.

So my "break" will be a mini one, I suppose. I won't have the time to post or read blogs every day but I do find solace here and since it is essential that I create balance and nurture myself during this hectic time, I will peek in now and then.

I have so enjoyed your stories, words and images that you have left for me about my pictures in my last few posts. That is indeed part of the solace for me. You grabbing me gently by the hand and showing me your worlds. It gets me out of my head. So, over the next few weeks...I would love to continue this exchange, if you will have me.

Last night I was fortunate enough to be a hair model for my friend who is one of the most talented hair colorist's in Southern California. She used my hair to teach her assistant's some new techniques in her salon downtown. It is hard to tell in this lighting, but I have all shades of reds, coppers and golds weaved within my brown. I told my niece this past weekend that I was in bad need of some hair love...and then my friend calls me to be her guinea pig for *free*. It was a sweet giftie and once again reaffirmed my belief in the power of intentions that we put out to the Universe. Bow down to the hair~gods.

So tell me...if you had this furry leopard coat on, how would you feel? Where would you be? Who would you be with? Do share the juice...my lovely story tellers.

Prrrr kitties.

Men are denied feminine sensuality. We are tough. Macho. We are meant to be rocks and steel, unless of course you are Perry Farrel or some other rock star. So… if I was wearing that coat, I would be in my twenties, I would be on acid, I would be wearing eyeliner, and no shirt. I would be strutting the streets of the Lower East Side in NYC in leather pants. I would be the Lizard King and I would be able to do anything. I’d still be smoking cigarettes and joints and pissing in alleys.

Wait, wait wait…what the hell happened to female sensuality, this sounds like the exact opposite. Maybe that is why I am no longer wearing leopard coats. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Remember leopards are wild animals, not just purring cats.

BZ...you just rock. I would have joined you in the Lower East Side, my friend...as the Lizard Queen, of course. Thank you for this fun glimpse into your mysterious past. ; )

Okay, you rock, you just rock. Hot, hot, hot! How would I feel? Oh, not so cute as you look, that's for sure. But this coat should give any wearer of it a little shot of the sassy.

Let's see...In that coat, I would probably hide in my room and never come out. It looks gorgeous on you, lovely, but it is so far from what I put on everyday. I cannot stand that I won't allow myself to get a bit wild with my style. I'm a J.Crew girl - a bit boring, but with a hint of librarian sex appeal, I suppose!

Oh my, there's a book that you must read about energy and the Universe. I can't remember the title right now, but it's a great read without all those icky technical terms. I'll look it up for you!

girlfriend, you are smokin' in that coat with your beautiful new hair colour- and i will be borrowing it off you when i come and stay, oh YES!

in that coat i would be flirting with sexy men in bars, drinking cocktails and smoking my vanilla cigarettes... umm, so no change there then eh? ;-)

the expression on your face is absolutely classic...so very come hither...

even though i agree with amy in that leopard skin isn't usually my thing (i'm a black and combat kind of girl)...i'd probably try it on for a lark, and immediately feel my feline side spring to life. i'd slink around and purr a lot.

Ha!!! If I was wearing that coat it would be a flashback to me of 16 or 17. I would also be wearing black shiny plastic pants, and a red tank top... and perhaps some stripper shoes... Ah... the good old days, I soooo miss my plastic pants. Oh, I also may have been wearing one of my shiny lame' mini dresses.... *sigh*

I have one very similar to that, unfortunately it is made up of many tiny creatures and is very old, with holes. So now I use it to cover a chair. Not very PC, but it reminds me of when I was young snuggled in my mothers´s arms.
