What to do when Procrastinating...

one of my favorite postcards, canon digital rebel xt

I have so much to do and I am totally procrastinating. I think something is in the cosmos because most of my friends are in the same head space. Perhaps I am having a difficult time wrapping my head around anything creative right now because it's been a few heavy months and I am a bit drained. No more family tragedies, please! Thank you.

During times when I'd rather stare at a wall than do some work, I just have to pick up my lead foot and make the first move. Then the groove typically starts flowin'. The sun is shining through my studio today and my favorite tunes are surrounding me. That alone should be enough support to push me in the right direction.

Until then, I will procrastinate a wee bit longer and play along with this meme that the gorgeous Ro tagged me to do:

Six weird things about myself...

1. I can easily have sensory overload. Because of this, amuzement parks are not my best friend. But they aren't my husband's either, so no argument there. I have a feeling our little boho kid is going to prefer libraries over Disneyland anyways. ; ) Just a hunch.

2. I cannot wear those fabulous pointed shoes because my feet are totally shaped like Barney Rubble and I get grumpy when my feet hurt.

3. My father's nickname for me is Boochie. So, my sister Pam calls me Boochiana. Don't ask. ; )

4. I have to straighten our comforter and sheets before I get into bed. Even though they get messed up as soon as I crawl in.

5. I cannot eat my popcorn until the film starts. It's just wrong!

6. I try to avoid wearing blue with black. It reminds me of a bruise.

I am tagging Superhero, Stef, Jen Gray & Schmoopy.

I think it's the time of year for procrastination, with all the new year resolutions in full swing or dropped to the way-side, we have want we REALLY want to do on our minds, so naturally our brains won't let us do what we want. Hmm, perhaps I should have just said I know exactly what you mean!!

Me too on #2 and #4. As for the procrastination, I think I'm finally feeling some creative energy beginning to bubble up through my body--time to seize the moment!

LOL. Girl-I am so with you on the comforter thing-I even have to have the sheet and comforter be lined up at the top or I get really frustrated. It is a funny thing between my husband and I because he could care less and whenever he makes the bed they are never even.

Love you baby

I'm in full procrastinating mode also, but that is probably due to the fact that my new (be it parttime) job is using a lot of my energy supplies. But certain things still need to be done...Saturday i guess.

I'm with you on #1 all those sounds, lights, smells...

XOXO Sophie

I can certainly relate to procrastinating when it comes to making my art work. I'm taking baby steps this week. The trick, I think, is to just start.
You know, I can't wear those fabulous pointy shoes either 'cause I have duck feet. And I have to brush off our sheets before bed. And no food in bed. Crumbs - ack! And yeah, I get it when you say that you avoid wearing blue with black 'cause it reminds you of a bruise. I feel that way about purple nailpolish.

I think this procrastination thing is widespread. Maybe it's the season, who knows but I know you are not alone.
I related to #2 for sure....I can't wear pointy shoes for the same reason and I absolutely hate when my feet hurt. I am in fact going to go to a Berkeley shoe store that sells those shoes you wear, I really want to try them on, love the red color!
I truly hope things are starting to feel a little more calm for you.
XOXO

I know you tagged me because you know I am procrastinating too, hee hee!

I can't eat my popcorn before the film starts either. I get very concernced for others who do and then wonder what they will snack on once the movie gets going.

I always say I have feet like Fred Flinstone (big slabs) and so, pointy shoes are not for me either! I don't like black and blue together either.

Fabulous pointy shoe hint: buy a 1/2-1 size larger than you normally wear. That makes your toes happy in their wide environment but you still have the pointy toe illusion! That's what I do! =)

Love the postcard. Did you take the photo? It's gorgeous!
Both of my daughter are active in GSA(Gay/Straight Alliance at high school). I wish they had had that group when I was in high school.

Your post reminds me I was tagged to do this meme that I still need to do.

Am with you about the pointy shoes (shoes are for comfort first!), also straightening the covers, and popcorn; it's the only way to sink down into the movie as you're swept away; doing so before takes away that magic swept away feeling.
