off to find myself again...

carey on a mountain top, canon digital rebel xt

i'm feeling a bit down and restless. today i am going to take my stack of books on photography and lighting and go to my favorite coffee house by the sea.

i attached this picture of carey because it embodies what i am searching to feel today. that peace, strength and inner power that flows from within and out into the world.

today i feel a bit stuck, bored and numb. this usually means i have been indoors too much...which i have. i always feel intellectually stimulated when going to this coffee house by the sea. there are a plethora of bohemians studying, drawing, sketching, reading, emailing, chatting. it's full of life and good vibrations.

they also have the most delicious steamed scrambled eggs (steamed with an espresso machine) with feta cheese. that adds a bit of a draw as well. ; )

then perhaps a walk on the beach afterwards will reconnect me to Mother Nature and here i will find myself again.

Good for you for taking that time for yourself :) I am soooo jealous of that right now ;)

Do you have any books you would recommend for me for photography? I have been meaning to ask all of my lovely photographer friends for a while now, and you just reminded me.

Have a lovely time in your coffee shop by the sea.

Love to you :)

Hello! I am a stranger but I have read a bit of your blog this week and I saw that here you say you are searching a bit for yourself (at least momentarily).
Well, one thing you are is an inspiration, even to strangers! I dont know how I found your blog (some twisting twirling path that includes google and other blogs Im sure) but I found it such a lovely space that I promptly went over and set up my own. So know that even those in those times when you find yourself seeking and searching you are still offering up words and images with such creative energry that they spill over into other peoples lives in a very positive way.
Thank you!
(and I hope your day of café lounging and beach wandering replenished you aplenty!)

I've been lurking on your blog for a while. I think I found my way here by way of Jen Lemen. I absolutely love it - you inspire me to be, now, the person I always say I want to be when I'm older. Your photographs are dazzling.

But, ok, I have a totally superficial question to ask. Your hair... it is gorgeous. As is you friend Lethas. I am so in love. I have dark curly hair that I'm letting grow and it's my dream that it look that way. How do you do it??
