friendship soaked love*

swirly & melissa, canon digital rebel xti

I apologize for my absence lately. I was away and then brought home with me a juicy Kiwi for a few days. This past weekend I did a photo shoot of two dear friends that happen to be one another's best friends. Being a close witness to their history and intimacy unfolding before my eyes got me thinking about the comfort and safety of some of my friendships. Tying the lovely and intimate photo shoot up with a few hours of Sex and the City summed up that we are our best selves when surrounded by absolute unconditional friendship soaked love.

I'm pretty busy with work this week but wanted to peek in and wave hello. If you've seen this film, would love to hear your favorite bits. Just to keep the fun girly energy and pink drinks flowin'...

Hey you,
Mmmmm...the power of friendship! Yummie!!!

my favorite part in the movie was where Sarah Jessica Parker got out of the car to confront Big...she is getting back into the car, when he still wanted to talk..and her friend (with the dark hair...oops..don't know her name) pulled her in and screamed at Big 'NO!'. Her expression in her eyes....protecting her friend...surrounding her with love and fencing Big off...it just touched my heart! To love someone so much that you will protect them no matter what!

For me that was the moment... I would love to protect a friend of me like that...but it's not time yet...

Big hug to you and enjoy your weekend! xx

how lovely!

and such a sweet picture. one of my all time favourite subjects to photography is best friends....i'm glad you had that nourishing loving energy around you!

and my favourite moment of SATC is when big and carrie get out of the cars after the non-wedding and charlotte comes out and shouts at big. its that shout that i love, the protective way that she holds onto carrie. i know there were so many lovely girly moments in that movie, but that protective friend moment stands out most for me! (and charlotte's digestive troubles come a close second!)

i loved all of it but that scene with Kristin Davis shouting 'no' was truly powerful. i remember the conversation after the movie was all about that scene.

i also loved the scene they shot in monkey bar (with carrie and her assistant) as i have such wonderful memories of new york and that bar in particular.

steve and miranda on the bridge made me lose it.

all the shots in mexico made me want to be there.

so happy you are soaking in friendship lovin's

love you.

I loved the part when the waiter in Mexico calls Carrie "Mrs. Preston" and she goes, "well, that was like taking a bullet."

I also loved when Charlotte is worrying about something bad happening to her and Carrie says: "Charlotte, you shit your pants this year, I think you're done."

I loved the scene when Carrie was modeling all her old clothes one last time for the girls!

Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!

I loved the whole movie but I guess my favorite part was when
she was able to be honest with Miranda you know you have a great friend when they can be totally honest even if they get upset with you!.

This is my perception of you through your blog: you are...beautiful inside and outside, talented, loved, humble, giving, artistic, creative, wear your heart and your love on your sleeve. Your blog is a breath of fresh air every time I stop by. God Bless.

girl...the part when samantha gets carrie to eat by feeding her got to me. i just sat there with tears rolling down my face.

i also loved when charlotte shouted at big. her fierceness was great.

but what was great, was that carrie knew she could lean on her friends no matter what. she didn't even have to ask if it was ok...or if they'd be there. of course they would be.
she just said "get me out of here" and left it up to them to help her.

and. in the end. i cried when big and carrie were finally together. as it should be.
(sorry if i ruined that for anyone who hasn't seen the movie).

clink,clink. xo

Funny. I always feel like our lives are in sync, even though we don't know each other... hmm..

I, too, have just spent the week with two amazing friends(one old, one new), who decided I needed to be part of their annual super girly week together. It started with a little SITC, (i LOVED the whole movie, but cried when Samantha was feeding Carrie, and really cried when BIG knew she needed her girls in the end). We went swimming with dolphins and sting rays, braving our fears, and ended up riding roller coasters. It was amazing.

the power of girlfriends...

I missed your posts!!!
Glad to hear you are busy and having a fun and juicy time with life right now.

Haven't seen the movie, can't wait to though. I've been seriously tempted to revisit the DVD series this weekend since we are staying in and saving money.

there were a lot of beautiful moments already mentioned by others, but one thing kind of ruined the film for me

samanthas "weight gain"

she wasn't in the least bit heavy

I loved all the moments that everyone else loved. I lost it a little when Charlotte got pregnant... and was all worried about runung because she didn't want to ruin it. One of my best girlfriends was sitting next to me and gently took my hand, squeezed it and kissed it. That meant more to me than a lot has for a long time.
Love love your posts and really feel what you're going through. You are so strong and I admire you and Boho boy.
love

Hello there :~)
My favourite moment was when they all pulled together and gave her time to be, in Mexico. The water, the music, the whole feel of it, was just so beautiful... & I also loved the bit where Samantha was feeding Carrie. The whole movie had touches of reality in - the cellotape on the cell phone, the way Carrie looked in the mirror the morning after... I felt it refreshing to have that honesty in it.

I loved the part in the street with Big and Charlotte and Carrie. Kristin Davis totally rocked that scene. Samantha feeding Carrie was good too.

I knew in the beginning that she as going to wear that vintage suit, b/c Big is so into all that old movie stuff (remember when he left for California and he left he the album his parents used to dance to) that suit looked like something the ladies in the old romances would wear.
