Sunday, August 3

and the Gratitude Giftie goes to...

boho boy drawing a name & me holding the winner (click for larger view)

So, my dear Nashay (we heart your name)...do browse around my shop and let me know which 8 x 10 print you crave most and then email me at denise@bohophoto.com with your mailing address.

And to all the ones who entered...I just wanted to say how very moved to tears I was by those of you who shared your thoughts and feelings on my journey and art. In fact, when I took some time on Sunday to put my earphones on, listen to Amy Seeley and write out each of your names, I set aside some precious time to read your words again. A huge part of me wanted to choose the person by their heartfelt sharings but I had to trust that the one we chose in the hat was meant to receive this gift. I wish I could give something to all of you. Especially those of you who spilled your heart into the comments. You gave me such a gift that I was not expecting. Thank you.

It was fun to play this with Boho Boy. I swished the hat around for a while and blew some kisses into the hat, then set it down and he chose the name. I might do this twice a year!

Again...thank you for being here with me on this journey and for your support. It breathes strength and inspiration into my days.

Tonight Boho Boy and I watched the sun go down while we were in the ocean, jumping in and out of waves and holding onto one another. There is nothing like the healing energy of the sea. Now I lay my head down to sleep with that wonderfully exhausted feeling one feels after spending time being tossed by the sea.

your sunset dip in the ocean sounds lovely.

i'm so pleased that your giveaway gave you as much pleasure as it did everyone else. i'm sure the recipient of your beautiful print will adore it. i have been reluctant to participate in the giveaways held by a few blogger i admire but perhaps i have been thinking about it the wrong way!

take care.

You had sooo many comments and names to pull from the hat! Wow! Nashay is a lucky soul to have won a piece of your creative heart. I am grateful to have had the chance to "enter."
I love reading your blog- your bravery and openness are an inspiration in a world which can feel quite closed off.
The ocean is so healing isn't it? Ah, I remember falling asleep all salty, sun- burned and tired from hours of play when I was a kid. Sleep well...xoxo

I just e-mailed you but I seem to be having some trouble with my server. I just wanted you to know that I am here and am trying to make contact. I will prevail! It may take some time as I am a computer idiot, but I will get in touch with you sometime today.
And thank you, thank you so much!

Hi everyone, this is Nashay. Wow, I feel like a celebrity! Okay, it was a tough choice. I thought I knew right away what I wanted because I have always coveted "Reaching." It is so ethereal and simple, yet bold. And my absolute favorite is "Rain Soaked Falling Leaves." Are those pictures gorgeous or what?! But since those HAVE to be together, in my opinion, I'll get those on my own. And don't even get me started on the black and whites. But in the end I chose...

Sorry, ran out of space. I chose BRAVE. I have always loved the sun shining through clouds like that. The angle is so cool and I love that there is a story there. I always need to be reminded to be brave. Don't we all!

One more comment and then I'll shut up. I just want to thank Denise for this. Isn't she wonderful?!!! I know we all feel that way about her or we wouldn't be reading her blog, obsessively in my case. She is so much more than talented and beautiful. I also think she has an amazing tribe...all of you. We don't know each other but you all lift me up every day every bit as much as my real life friends. Thank you all for that, especially Boho Girl! Love, Nashay
