for wanderers, dreamers and lovers...

fellow searchers... tara whitney and em, canon digital rebel xti

I received this quote in my email from a dear reader of mine and have read it over and over because it really resonates with me.

I wanted to share it with you with hopes that you will find yourself understood this weekend, knowing that there are many searchers walking the path... side by side, right along with you.

"I am one of the searchers. There are, I believe, millions of us. We are not unhappy, but neither are we really content. We continue to explore life, hoping to uncover its ultimate secret. We continue to explore ourselves, hoping to understand. We like to walk along the beach, we are drawn by the ocean, taken by its power, its unceasing motion, its mystery and unspeakable beauty. We like forests and mountains, deserts and hidden rivers, and the lonely cities as well. Our sadness is as much a part of our lives as is our laughter. To share our sadness with one we love is perhaps as great a joy as we can know - unless it be to share our laughter.

We searchers are ambitious only for life itself, for everything beautiful it can provide. Most of all we love and want to be loved. We want to live in a relationship that will not impede our wandering, nor prevent our search, nor lock us in prison walls; that will take us for what little we have to give. We do not want to prove ourselves to another or compete for love.
For wanderers, dreamers, and lovers, for lonely men and women who dare to ask of life everything good and beautiful. It is for those who are too gentle to live among wolves."

Beautiful. I so often come to your blog and find exactly what my soul is need of at that time. Even though are journeys are very different, what you write here resonates with me and I thank you for that. I can walk away from reading a post here feeling calmer and more centered, especially today. I love this quote and will be saving it to refer back to often.

YEA!!! It makes me SO happy to hear that it resonates with so many kindred spirits...I know it's a very confusing place sometimes to be so tuned in to what makes our lives and the world.. Two resources that help me... a REALLY good book called "Many are called, few are chosen" by Heather Ann Harder about us sensitive "lightworkers" as well as a really interesting website called www.highlysensitivesouls.com..

Hopefully these will make us feel like we are not alone and that we ARE all connected!!!

This is how i feel, and more. Never been able to find friends who truely feel the same (i do have mates but not kindred spirits). Love reading this blog as feel there are many out there and not so many near me, but then what is distance when we share and bear our souls on this page.

I read this quote on your blog yesterday. Cried a bit. Came back later, read it again, and cried some more. Same thing today. Shared it with a fellow searcher and cannot wait to hear what they thought.

Your blog is becoming my most favorite place to land . . . somewhere that I know I will always find something that resonates inside of me. Thank you!

I've always tried to put this "feeling" into words and was never able to do it justice. This quote does it beautifully. Thank you for sharing it.

Now I know what to call it: I am a searcher. This quote describes me. For so long I've tried to label that yearning.

Thanks. Love it.
