jonatha is in the house!

jonatha brooke and me, photo by thea coughlin

girls will be girls. ; )

My dear friend Jonatha is on tour and if she is in your city, I do encourage you to go see her because if you do, well...your life will be changed...forever.

Not only have I fallen in love with each of her songs, her lyrics, the way she gracefully moves her body while she plays her guitar and flirts with her audience and charms each and every person that is under her spell...but I have fallen in love with her as a friend in my life. A support. A person that makes me laugh so hard my gut hurts. A friend that sends me a loving text message while running onto her plane to tell me all is going to be okay. A talented woman that has so much on her plate but yet always thinks of others in the midst of it all. A friend that is basically a true blue rock star but is so very humble and grounded and just wants to play her songs.

So, if you're in the mood to be totally charmed...find her and you'll see what I mean.

Here is Jonatha talking about the making of her latest album "The Works"...which is getting so much attention. This story touches my soul:

I love you Jonatha! Doesn't she just rock? I'm so happy that I've had my life changed by her. And it's so true--watching her is mezmerizing. When we watched her by the bon fire, I was enraptured and amazed that she could sit there chatting with a whole group of people and make us laugh while she was tuning her guitar for the next song by just humming and feeling it out. amazing.

I had looked up her tour schedule about a month ago and considered if it would be possible to get out to San Diego to see her... still considering :)

I don't know Jonatha personally -- still, maybe I do, kind of, because I've been listening to Jonatha since her first release & have never strayed. So ok, I don't know her 'physical self' [so to speak], but she is everything you say just via her music and her voice.

There are some things I don't know I need until they find me, and then I realize I can't live without them. Go, Jonatha. Amen. Twice.

kea,
this photo above was processed by Thea Coughlin and i am not sure what steps she did to process this one.

i play in photoshop with my own images. i don't have a set thing that i do. i just play. i've used a few actions before though...yes. there are all kinds on the internet. some of my favorites are Itty Bitty Actions and Rustic Relics Actions.

just play.

This brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful video. Jonatha is such sparkle in this amazing world. Her music touches me and the lyrics go straight to my heart. To be able to share a cabin with her at squam was amazing. You are absolutly right...she is a true rock star, yet so grounded, caring and loving!

Thank you for sharing this with us Denise!!
