Poetry Thursday

sean & carey, reaching

"No human relation gives
one possession in another.
Every two souls

are absolutely different.
In friendship or in love,

the two side by side
raise hands together

to find what one cannot
reach alone."

~ Kahlil Gibran

******
Kahlil Gibran is one of my favorite poets, authors. His book The Prophet was introduced to me by Letha years ago and since then, I have held his words close to my heart. As many times as I have read through each chapter of this book, whenever I open it, I gain new perspective from his wisdom.

hi there -

i LOVE him too. I was introduced when I was a teen-ager, and I thought I 'got' it. Now when I read him I just 'breathe' it.

they, the poem, you, and your words - all beautiful.

Beautiful,

I am glad that the book has touched and moved you and that I had a small part in that.

What a great shot...your photography is always awesome!!

Missing your beautiful face and that sweet soft voice! Phone date and artist date when I get back???

I love his poetry and words as well. I haven't seen his Prophet for many years, makes me want to find a copy! He's so smart!

Kahlil Gibran is one of my very favorites too! In fact, I am housesitting this weekend for my best friend (Laini-"growwings" blog) and was just thinking a bit ago that I want to scour Laini's shelves for her copy. I am very much in need of his wisdom these days.
